European vs NZ births outside marriage
The proportion of children born outside marriage in the UK has leapt from 12 percent in 1980 to 42 percent in 2004, according to the Office for National Statistics.
They haven't caught up with us yet. Our proportion in 2004 was 45 percent up from 21 percent in 1980.

What is the percentage of children born outside a marriage or a committed non-marriage relationship?
That realy is the issue.
All that those statistics say is that marriage is less popular today.
