I can't believe that Japanese men are inactive. What about all the walking they do, to and from the train stations each day? You don't see many fat Japanese men.
It has now become the social norm in New Zealand adult circles to be fat. Weight gain and lack of fitness, exercise are bedfellows. There should be social disincentives like extra costs on planes, going to the bottom of hospital waiting lists, having yellow ‘no parking lines’ outside schools etc. But of course there never will be any Government mandated regulations that disadvantage obese people. The Government will never say “get off your arse” Instead we will continue to rely on self-responsibility and educating people which is clearly failing miserably as things get worse. What this report says is obvious to anyone: New Zealanders are getting lazier. Politicians are well aware fat people i.e. 1 in 4 vote thus will never do anything to upset their huge (pun intended) voting-block. Cripes fatties now even have advocates arguing obesity is normal! Not targeting women here but the average women’s dress size in France is 12-14 and average dress size in N.Z is 16-18. Kiwi’s are clearly happy with their sexual partners, male and female, being obese.
