The Feminist Majority are complaining because "progress toward gender equality in domestic work has stalled". You see the "shirkers" really picked up their act until 1985 but now they've slacked off and refuse to do more.Never mind that here in New Zealand the labour force participation rate for men is 75.7 percent - 13.2 points higher than for women.
And 35 percent of working women have part-time jobs compared to only 9 percent of men.
The feminists still want men to do half the housework.
Come to think of it where's that useless husband of mine. Damn.....just left for his weekend job. He's gonna have to quit that and start pulling his weight around the house. Yeah.

I might consider more housework when she takes on more dead animal removal, woodcutting, building, car maintenance, plumbing and so on...
Lindsay, the point is not making a full-time husband do more house-work. The point is making this husband consider quitting his job and do housework full-time IF the wife could get a very good full-time job. But most men don't even consider that - they think it's below their whatever. Unfortunately, most women put up with that and go on stroking that petty little male ego that wants to be the bread-earner in the family and won't reconsider his identity
Call me old fashioned but any man willing to stay home all day to do housework is either a) too lazy or incapable to get a real job and/or b) a poofter at heart.
For the cost of a few packets of cigarettes that beneficiaries buy my maid cleans my apartment very nicely thank you.
I would never whinge at a man to do any housework because I have never asked a man to do something that I would not be prepared to do.
That's what maids, cleaners and housewives are for.
The only 'House Husband' I know plays golf twice a week. His wife is some high-powered executive so he chose to give up work.
One day a week his mother cares for the children, another day his mother-in-law takes care of the children.
Even if they didn't 'help' he could still just take the children with him on the golf course and turn out Tiger Woods Mark II and Michelle Wie Ver 2.
And every man is jealous of him.
