Big fat moralising hypocrite

I take it this guy didn't swim to Egypt;

New Zealand Archbishop says Anglicans should offer “moral leadership” in the fight against global warming

Archbishop David Moxon has told an international press conference that the Anglican Communion should offer “moral leadership” in the campaign against global warming.

Archbishop Moxon is in Alexandria, Egypt, for a meeting of the Anglican Primates, or leaders of the 34 Anglican provinces that make up the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Archbishop Moxon later told a press conference that the gathered Anglican leaders were agreed that the Anglican Communion should offer “moral leadership” in the campaign against climate change.

This, he suggested, was significantly a matter of setting an example.

He spoke of the need for Anglicans to embrace lifestyle changes, and to cutback unnecessary or environmentally hazardous modes of travel.

I dunno about David Moxon, but Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams spent a year taking the train. www.forumforthefuture.org/greenfutures/articles/GF_interview_rowan_williams

BTW, Moxon doesn't look too fat to me:

It is highly amusing how assorted godbags and right-wing bloggers try and convince us that Christianity is a capitalist ideology.

Never has been and never will be.

So true Ruth...Christianity is a collectivist dogma not far removered from Socialism....indeed the latter is just a secular version of the former.Both preach altruism and submission to a "higher authority"

Capitalism is incompatible with Christianity because its based on rational selfishness and individualism.

Its no suprise that there area thousand and oine Christian/socialist organisations while capitalist/Christian ones are very thin on the ground..

Jim Perons...:Two Masters: The conflict between Capitalism and Christianity" makes this point so well.

I'm starting to get annoyed at these church leaders who jump on the bandwagon and meddle in things which are not their business. And yes, he is a hypocrite for flying to Egypt. Much like all these celebrities moaning about our collective carbon footprint as they zip around the world in first class. Why doesn't he just stick to leading his church? His job is to share the message of Jesus with the world, not to tell others how far they can fly, or what car to drive. People can decide that for themselves. No wonder the Anglican church is in a crisis.

You have to remember he is Anglican. The Arch-Bishop of Canterbury will probably be the UKs first Anglican Imman. They are the wooliest bunch of fools I have ever heard. The NZ CoE actually recognised the existence of pre-European Maori deities. I thought that went against one of the Ten Commandments. This is why the African Anglicans are probably the only hope for that particular church.
