No stone unturned

The volunteers who deliver election material frequently ask about which letterboxes they should put material in. I put it in all letterboxes. Took the boy and the dog and we covered Lowry Bay yesterday. Even got a bit sunburned. Beautiful day.

Good on you Lindsay. I quite agree that election material is in a separate class to advertising material.
It is frustrating when people moan about politics and then don't take the time to educate themselves about potential representatives at election time.

I would caution against for a number of reasons. Doing so would suggest:
1. A polite request is ignored.
2. You know best.
3. You are not listening.
4. You are disrespectful of others wishes.
5. Your views are more important than theirs.

This may not matter if you are already polling at a low level so the risk may be worth it.

If your views are worthwhile maybe the neighbours will discuss them with those who did not receive the material.

Taking a little longer, but knocking on the door and offering the material, whilst acknowledging the sign, might gain a little respect. It might even reach the trash can a little less directly.

At least it is not raining.

I never object to receiving mailers, pamphlets or suchlike.

They are all free fuel!
