Just wondering....

Another to add to the toll of child deaths caused by intentional injury. Another beneficiary parent to stand trial.

Something I've noticed and wondered about. Where do these names come from?

Jyniah, Nia, Jhia, Cru? There seems to be a disconnect from reality. Are they names from games, fantasy cartoons?

Maybe the names thing has a connect to black American naming over recent decades and the fact that there is so much american TV available to us. I read somewhere a while back that something like 50% of new black american baby girls had names that were either unique or had unique spellings of traditional names.

Freakonomics has a good chapter on the effects of these types of names on people.
