The same Frank Macskasy?

What a surprise to see the name Frank Macskasy on the front of the DomPost this morning. It usually appears on the letters page after another go at the failure of the 80's reforms. On more than one occasion Frank accused me of "living in a world of her own" or "determined to ignore the evidence". It was always his contention he dealt in the truth. Yesterday, in the Upper Hutt District Court, a Frank Macskasy admitted a fraud charge of stealing a dead baby's identity to obtain a passport. He was remanded for sentencing next month.

I am not sure but I thought that letter writer Macskasy was a lot older than 48.

It looks like there is a Frank Macskasy Jnr also.

Highbury is in Wellington above Aro Valley, the dead baby fella is from Upper Hutt - so probably not.

A Frank Macskasy was living in Upper Hutt in 2004.

A Frank Macskasy, 48, of Wellington, also lists one of his previous jobs as Parliamentary Assistant. BTW the clipping isn't recent. It's from May 2002.

The mad one did work for the Greens or Progressive for a bit so maybe it is him. Might explain why he has been quite of late?

About 20 years ago, I knew Frank Macskasy Jnr, who was also a prolific letter writer. I think he would be more than 48 though. When I knew him, I thought he was about 15 years older than me, which would put him into his mid-fifties by now.

It's him. He is Frank Macskasy Jnr, but the Snr left NZ many moons ago.
Did a stint on Jim Anderton's team and was a great friend of Sonja Davies. Even ran a lovely pizza restaurant in Eastbourne.
He is a real nice guy and the identity thing was 20 years ago.

Had the misfortune to know him & found him very obsessive with his letter writing & collection or articles from papers, yes he is older than 48.. ;-) The adage Crime dosen't pay' has been so right in his life. Hope he's learnt his lesson!
