Here Benson-Pope is preening himself with some good news for beneficiaries. From April 1st an increase of 3.16 percent, which reflects the rise in the cost of living, will appear in beneficiary pay packets.Umm. In December 2005 Mr Benson-Pope received a rise of 6.5 percent and it was backdated to July. Nice.
Of course, this is a government which believes in progressivity - in more ways than one.
