Yes. That's the slogan that won the Lib Dems Scottish seat, Dunfermline - their first triumph in a Scottish by-election for nearly a century. This is a huge embarrassment to Labour and Gordon Brown in particular, who has a home in the electorate. As far as I can ascertain the Liberal Democrats are further to the left of Labour. They opposed joining the war in Iraq.
New MP Willie Rennie said the result showed the Lib Dems could challenge Labour anywhere in Scotland. "People are fed up with Labour," he said. "They've taken our country for granted for too long - there is too much spin, not enough delivery."
Sounds familiar.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!

Actually the Lib Dems are an interesting group that has become increasingly libertarian with time. Like all good libertarians they opposed the war in Iraq and that doesn't make them further to the Left. Both Left and Right support war frequently. I would rather see the Lib Dems succeed than either Labour or the Conservatives (though the conservatives are slightly improving.).
I didn't intend an association between the two comments (being further to the left and opposing the war). From a quick perusal of their policies they seem to want more redistribution - but with more devolution. Why do you think they are becoming more libertarian?
