"We can't survive without business"

And a very sad column from Listener writer Joanne Black on the demise of the Listener in particular, a great New Zealand institution. She concludes, "I remain more afraid of the economic fallout of New Zealand's response to Covid-19 than I am of the virus itself."

It's like a bonfire. Advertisers are one of the first to die, then print media of course. TV news are showing more low-brow internet joke videos as prime time content than ever.

This is how cultures get changed, I guess. NZ furniture will keep getting broken until the people identify who the bull is in this China shop; Government.

For the life of me, I cant understand why everything is shut down. For instance, I want some sand to finish paving. To get this, I drive to the metal supplies and park my trailer near the heap. A front-end loader picks up the sand and drops it on my trailer. I pay either by paywave ir internet banking. The closest I get to another human is when the eftpos is put out for me to approach and wave the card at it after the employee has retreated.

I dont understand why its ok to sell meat in a supermarket but not in a butchery.

I dont understand why we are being misled and lied to constantly [I do realise of course, its a default setting on the average politician, but in these times...?]
