A political dream that won't escape attention in the Budget

Radio New Zealand reports:

What is likely to come out a winner on Thursday is support for teen parenting, with Mr Key conveniently planning a visit to a teen parent's unit on Friday.

Who would blame him?

A huge success story under National - related to welfare reform or otherwise - is the drop in teenage parents on welfare.

To be demonstrating prevention-success alongside support for the diminishing number who do become teenage parents is a political dream.

Key will cop some stick for not doing something sexy about poverty as he sort of indicated after the election, but in the face of the better than expected overall reports, especially the Taylor Fry one, its now more a case of staying with whats working.
