"Show some sensitivity Rodney"

Jane Clifton is channelling the arrogance of National in these comments;

A political analyst is warning Act leader Rodney Hide not to overplay his hand as National's coalition partner.

It is understood Mr Hide is pushing for a role in finance, law and order or local government.

The Listener's political commentator Jane Clifton says he needs to be careful to show some sensitivity and remember he does not exactly have a towering mandate.

"He's been extremely ill-mannered to John Key making public remarks like 'John Key is to the left of Helen Clark' and harping on about still wanting Roger Douglas in Cabinet. It's just bad manners."

Ms Clifton says Mr Hide would do well to remember he is only in his seat because he got the nod from the last couple of National leaders.

How frigging hoyty toyty, matronly is that? "Mr Hide would do well to remember..."

Those people who invested hours and hours of their time helping get Rodney elected in Epsom should bow down before the superior knowledge of Ms Clifton. And Rodney should eat a substantial slice of humble pie. There but for the grace of National...

Get away.

Earlier this year Clifton wrote, Bloggers and activists make it hard to tell the accurate from the biased and the malicious.

Of course Clifton is herself untainted by bias. Her description of Rodney as 'bad-mannered' for telling the truth (Key is demonstrably to the left of Clark on certain issues) demonstrates just how deadly objective she is.

The country elected a National-ACT government - destroying the 100-year-old Ratana Alliance in the process.

The 2005 vote showed that a large majority of National party voters espouse (at least) ACT's policies much more than Nationals!

ACT should have at least 10% input into the government - and that means one or two big policies - like 3 strikes, flat tax, immediate end of the dole!

In the future, we can be sure ACT's vote will increase and National's decrease, as Labour is wiped out just like Winston.

It's called democracy. Rodney and Roger understand it. Obviously Key does not.

Never forget which particular slimeball Ms Clifton is married to.

That tells you everything you need to know about her judgement, and whom exactly she is channelling.

Don't trust Key and National. Key is a back-stabber -- just ask Don Brash. And it is entirely possible that Key will screw over ACT in order to keep his Labour-lite policies. I'd almost say Key is Helen Clark in drag -- but how would we tell?

That is utter bullshit, especially in relation to the 2005 election. We in Epsom received the message loud and clear from National NOT to vote Rodney Hide and we did anyway.

This election, not only did National not put up a viable alternative, but Epsom voters love Rodney, his work ethic, his integrity and his fun, approachable personality. We know he works bloody hard to represent us.

He doesn't have the snobby "born to rule" mentality that the Nats do.

I admire Jane Clifton and her views. Who is she married to? Like Colin James, she is usually pretty balanced and has a sense of humour, and like Colin James, she seems to be Leftist as well.
