Regrets

Sunday morning a little the worse for wear but with a life.

As the song goes, regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention.

What the hell. I'll mention them anyway.

I am very sorry Stephen Franks missed out. The irony is, if he had backed the same horse, he would have been quids in. Whoever put him at 60 on the National list needs their head read.

Ron Mark. Personally I like Ron. It takes guts to run a strong campaign shackled to a liar.

Judy Turner. Judy is worth ten Peter Dunnes. Elections are cruel.

The Libertarianz. Give up. You are too good for New Zealand. Buy an island somewhere and secede from the world.

Myself? All through the campaign I was lucky. The kind of luck whereby bad things happen but they could have been much, much worse. Twice I lost significant material from the trailer but both times there was no-one behind me. The second time a cop was just 5 seconds from coming over the brow of the hill and would surely have thrown the book at me. Similarly I was dumped down the list but it could have been much worse. I could have been number 5.

Paintings await. My welfare campaign awaits. My book about welfare awaits. And the dog always wants to walk. Freedom! There's a lot to be said for it.

I can understand all of that Lindsay ... also, there is probably something to be said for non partisan social commentary.

Lindsay, I congratulate you and ACT for an excellent campaign.

Luck may have not come your way on Election Day, but your principles and integrity shone over the past few weeks.

All the best in your future endeavours.

Congrats on your own vote in Hutt South, slightly less than I would have expected, but you, too, have done well.

We Libertarianz probably are too good for New Zealand, ha ha! ..but are unlikely to give up; if anything many chaps are more energised than ever for 2011.

Cannot wait to read your book.

Elijah :)

What regrets, Lindsay? You have nothing to regret. You're a wonderful fighter for freedom. I don't visit your blog every day, but whenever I do it's with the knowledge that there'll be something worth reading.

And as for suggestions to give up & secede, never! How can you give up on the notion of freedom? That's like giving up on life.

Besides, I'd miss the bloodsport! And there'll be plenty of that to be found in the next three years of blue socialism!! ;)

I am not an artist, but I think I can read eyes.
I wonder what you, as an artist, would read into the dog's eyes in this "capture"?
I think your eyes are telling it like I expect it is.
But the dog's emotions?

Yes Lindsay, as Elijah points out, us Libz are energised.

Keep it up - you help keep me going.

Failing that - (its actually not an island...hmmm... maybe the South Island, or Stewart Island - but I know Elijah wouldnt like that unless we could open up Elijahs clothes supplies & etiquette school there... ;-)

its 'seasteading'...

Ha ha, Shane.

I grew up in your fine electorate, at Ryal Bush.

Needless to say I was the only chap aware of etiquette or clothing matters.

Would love to move back to that neck of the woods...just lovely!
