Eye-watering graph

Can our children and grandchildren repay all the debt being incurred as well as fund Super and aged Healthcare? Perhaps a cynic might reply 'yes' - they can spend it on us instead of all the children they don't have.

Something to think about while you twiddle your thumbs under lock-down.

Lindsey is it my eyes or do the colours of the lines swap over at a couple of points? Maybe you can take some consolation from the fact that an increasing proportion of 65+ are still working and that trend is also likely to continue.

Lines cross over David but colours don't. Yes increasingly 65+ work which is why we also need to lift the Super eligibility age in line with most other countries.

Hi, Lindsay, you are right. Bill English was the only one with courage to look at it with open eyes. I want to congratulate you to and thank you for your paper published in NZCPR about the colonisation impact on Maori population. Great piece of information with lot of work behind. Everybody should read it, especially all our MPs with our PM. Thank you, it is good to have evidence at hand.

Well in the USA there may be one answer to this, Hand over the $35 trillion, you old farts

As is usual with NZ our stats are poor so I have no idea if the same applies here. Even if it does, you can bet future Labour or National-led government will be eyeing such sums greedily, as the Biden Democrats already are.
