Who is John Key's "untrustworthy and obnoxious" suggestion?

Have your guess here as to who the "untrustworthy and obnoxious" character is that John Key has apparently suggested for the next Governor General.

I didn't have to think very hard at all who this description fits.

Winston Peters.

Whatever happened to his 'I'd rather be a liar than a loser'stance? Key is so trautorous, untrustworthy and hypocritical. Appalling. I'd rather have Labour back, Key is a million times worse, such a weasel, for power.

Perhaps you should have read the original article in the Herald, rather than just a subset from the radio.
Key was specifically asked "Was it Winston Peters?"
His reply was, and I assume he was being quoted directly.
"No it wasn't Winston Peters, bless him"
Godd guess, but no cigar

Don Brash or someone from - or ex- the Business Round Table. No one else would cause an uproar.

David, such malice. You must be a party member. No sense of irony, at all. The Nats just don't have a funnybone.

I suspect the unfortunate choice was the despicable chameleon Jim Bolger, the Irish republican who would sell his worthless soul to the Queen.

Manalo, that's one of the most sensible things you've said this year.
