Here's a good graph. It's from the Social Policy Journal Of New Zealand November 2006. The population change over the thirty years was 33%.

Would be interesting to see a cumulative line of all current lines as well as one that gradually adjusts downward to 67% to allow for population growth to be normalised and see where that line goes over time.

Yes, a cumulative line would show a great deal of sleight of hand, wouldn't it.
