Calls for more spending/borrowing are astonishing

It is not my primary intention to argue against tax cuts but I couldn't accept the PSA Secretary Richard Wagstaff's rationale for extending Paid Parental Leave. My response in Monday's DomPost:

You should see the parental leave clauses in a lot of the PSA MECA's - incredibly generous

So if the Public Service Union's Multi Employer Collective Agreement contracts are already so generous, why push for more taxpayer input? Oh, of course. To leverage up what they can get for members.
