Kiwiblog has a breakdown of the latest Herald Digipoll.
As an ACT voter at the last election I still take an interest in its fortunes.
Now on 0.0%
Even ACT's social conservatives have defected.

Just goes to show that the best option is for Key to throw Banks out, and then the Nats support Colin Craig in the by-election.
That simple move would guarantee a National/Conservative government for the next two terms at least.
ACT's social conservatives had largely gone by 2005.
Colin Craig and the Conservatives just did not get a fair go by the print media, as usual. Shot down for being Christian based, as always.
Still, they did really well on election day, considering they came from nowhere and were ignored by the MSM!!

Right. It's pretty damn clear - if we stick with MMP - there should be no "magic seat" rule and a threshold of 3% or less. Yes that would have put Winston in '08: that would also have put the conservatives in this time around. With a sensible threshold, ACT would also clear never be a wasted vote (unless you live in Epsom)
First off Rodney Hide being just another trougher disappointed me. Then putting Banks in as the candidate for Epsom killed any vestiges of support I had for ACT. ACT used to stand for something - fiscal responsibility and personal rights. What do we get? John Banks. As big an arsehole pollie as any that ever disgraced parliament. Until there is a party that is liberal on social issues, hard on crime, and promotes fiscal responsibility and actually practices it, I am not sure there is anyone to give my vote to next time.
I agree, the threshold should be lower, all those votes for Colin Craig came to nothing - not fair. Why is Act being demonised? I quite like their/your values!! Much fairer then the poliices of the big two red/blue.
