And a very sad column from Listener writer Joanne Black on the demise of the Listener in particular, a great New Zealand institution. She concludes, "I remain more afraid of the economic fallout of New Zealand's response to Covid-19 than I am of the virus itself."
It's like a bonfire. Advertisers are one of the first to die, then print media of course. TV news are showing more low-brow internet joke videos as prime time content than ever.
ReplyDeleteThis is how cultures get changed, I guess. NZ furniture will keep getting broken until the people identify who the bull is in this China shop; Government.
For the life of me, I cant understand why everything is shut down. For instance, I want some sand to finish paving. To get this, I drive to the metal supplies and park my trailer near the heap. A front-end loader picks up the sand and drops it on my trailer. I pay either by paywave ir internet banking. The closest I get to another human is when the eftpos is put out for me to approach and wave the card at it after the employee has retreated.
ReplyDeleteI dont understand why its ok to sell meat in a supermarket but not in a butchery.
I dont understand why we are being misled and lied to constantly [I do realise of course, its a default setting on the average politician, but in these times...?]
