Finance Minister, Michael Cullen told Paul Holmes, on NewstalkZB this morning, that unemployment would rise by 20,000 by year-end. This has been repeated regularly in news bulletins over the day. He has just issued a retraction correcting the figure to 8,000. He says he had the wrong figure in his head after reading a Treasury report. Slightly embarrassing for him but at least he was prepared to admit his error and put the record straight.I wonder if Treasury's crystal ball is as useful as my kid's 20Q?
Probably as reliable as my damaged joints are at predicting the weather.
