Thatcher way back. Reagan also way back.

Key has no message because he has no conviction because he doesn't believe in anything. Except his own vain ambition to be PM.

I don't give a damn what he says, I judge him by what he does, and in fact he's gone back on almost every issue that ever made him once worth a vote.

A socialist loser and the worst PM in the history of this country.

Worst is an extreme term you think?

I don't. He's the worst because he has seduced NZ deeper into socialism whilst pretending to be a right winger. Tricked the voters but worse led them to think his hard left cronyist high taxing big spending socialist govt is some kind of alternative to Labour.

It was essential that NZ turned around after 9 years of Helen Clark. We didn't, we just continued on the same path while Key mouthed off as if we were going somewhere different.

The country now dwells deeply in the delusion that a National Party that has gone so far left it has taken all of Labour's political territory is some kind of right wing alternative.

In reality we've now had 16 years of hard left socialism. Its ever more deeply embedded in NZ's psyche, the country is pretty much ruined mentally and its Key who is to blame for this degeneration.

He's a shyster and a conman. Shouting loudly at the opposition in parliament about how he's a better socialist than they are is about all he's good for.Redbaiterhttp://truebluenz.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19962237.post-72323916745166898462016-02-15T21:27:26.616+13:002016-02-15T21:27:26.616+13:00In my experience, there are literally millions of ... In my experience, there are literally millions of New Zealanders who get up every morning, who do not want the Government to give them a handout,

except that they do. they - we - all do!

Welfare for Families - most so-called workers are actually bludgers.
National Party Superannuation - and plan to bludge as soon as they turn 60
State Education - a handout that almost every Kiwi family accepts
State "Heallthcare" - a handout that almost every Kiwi family accepts as soon as their first child is born.

I would have thought Seymour would be thinking that tax rates at present levels are far too high and far from fair

Even Seymour is far, far to the left of avowed open communist Bernie Sanders! We don't have any middle-left politics in NZ.

"But in a democracy, is there a choice other than slowly, slowly, catch a monkey"

Sure there is. NZ 1991. NZ 1984. UK 1986.

Roger Douglas said: ""Define your objectives clearly, and move towards them in quantum leaps, otherwise the interest groups will have time to mobilise and drag you down". Imagine what Ruth would have done given the so-called "GFC". You can bet the BIG FOUR handouts listed above would all have been gone by lunchtime!

That was NZ in my lifetime - how on earth did we get to here: Key admits support for communism - http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PA0807/S00526.htmAngry Torynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19962237.post-46971035910458201192016-02-15T16:09:57.987+13:002016-02-15T16:09:57.987+13:00"... low rate that is fairly applied ..."..."... low rate that is fairly applied ..."

That depends on how you perceive what low and fair look like. I would have thought Seymour would be thinking that tax rates at present levels are far too high and far from fair but that may be the result of me expecting him to be on the right of politics rather than the middle left endorsing a plank of the communist manifesto. Clearly I was mistaken but I won't make that mistake twice.

3:16Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19962237.post-59089266792929900722016-02-15T14:32:11.552+13:002016-02-15T14:32:11.552+13:00"But in a democracy, is there a choice other ..."But in a democracy, is there a choice other than slowly, slowly, catch a monkey"

Probably not, but a serious PM would also be looking to reform those institutions that believe there is a future to be had in spending other people's money. Education comes to mind. If we taught all children more about our history, those people and institutions that purchased the liberty we enjoy today, the forces that presently oppose it, and even a little economics 101 then the PM would be putting in place a legacy that provides an opportunity to preserve western civilisation rather than squander it.

I doubt his parliamentary pep talks will achieve much in the long run.
