That's a sea-change in NZ politics. Key has clearly got 2 or 3 more terms ahead of him - and frankly he is as likely to be replaced by an ACT/Conservative coalition than he is by some bunch of 19th century union-inspired leftists.

So perhaps, back since 1991, we can finally get some right wing policies in NZ.

For example, NZ hasn't been able to afford one cent of welfare since 2008. Every cent has been borrowed. That borrowing has to stop - which means so does welfare.

There will never be a better chance than today!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19962237.post-55483115867684348362014-09-19T20:14:38.326+12:002014-09-19T20:14:38.326+12:00No, you're right Samp, she really, really care...No, you're right Samp, she really, really cares about the poor. That's why she's obsessively squawked for 20 odd years to cut off any state income support for the poor and give the proceeds to the rich. Makes perfect sense. It's about freedumb. The 10% of households that pay all the tax in NZ will each have to pay back THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars to pay for National's welfare policies over the last six years.

Not under Labour. Not under the Greens. Not under MANA. Under National.

My siblings alone will have to pay an extra million dollars in taxes to make up for National's welfare reforms so far.

The only real welfare reform is abolition. Time limits which put you in to "income management" aren't time limits: the only real time limits - like the only real reform - stop benefits

When Basher Bennet announces that she'll just stop benefit for 40% of applicants, or after three years, or better still, just stop the lot immediately - then there will be real reform, real cost savings, and who knows perhaps we can start paying back those billions rather than loading even more hundreds and thousands onto the backs of the precious few nett taxpayers in NZ.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19962237.post-10472792739674201752014-09-18T21:33:37.887+12:002014-09-18T21:33:37.887+12:00"Your tireless work on welfare, reality, depe..."Your tireless work on welfare, reality, dependency and freedom would deliver you an OBE in a sane world."

Yeah, nah, ceaselessly banging on about abolishing state assistance to the poor in order to give the rich a tax break isn't considered worthy of a gong anywhere other than the febrile minds of the freedummies.Judge Holdennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19962237.post-15916950733584045732014-09-18T19:34:27.952+12:002014-09-18T19:34:27.952+12:00Lindsay
