"Let's Undo This"

Signing up to a social media campaign isn't something I've ever done before. I did so because it's one way I can register may protest at the new government.

National policies leave a lot to be desired but they were  better than Labour's.

It'd be satisfying to hear the numbers responding to this campaign reported in the media. That might happen if the numbers are very high.

And it's a well put together site.

I find this new govt infuriating. They have a slim minority, yet they are acting as though they have a huge mandate for change across the board when they don't at all.
I knew Ardern was not to be trusted and that it would be power at any price. Winston made the stupidest political decision in our history, and history will show this.
Just hope it is a one term government, because already they are causing huge damage.
I have signed up too, am also volunteering for National at the next election, to do whatever I can to help them back to power. Hoping that both NZ First and the Greens are toast next time, what a farce of a govt, not one of the three with a majority.
Such smugness and arrogance, ye gods hey are hard to take.

I agree that the new govt is wanting and there will yet be lots of unintended consequences. The early days don't look good for NZ but what did anyone expect. Some unions are already giving strike notices, National Standards have been scrapped, there is no credible plan for building houses or planting trees...and so it goes. My difficulty is that no one could reasonably have seen any other outcome. The incompetence was clearly signaled and the vote about the Speaker was generally though not specifically on the cards. There will be many more shows of incompetence - look at the experience of the cabinet. Look also at the payback to unions (trade and education). So my difficulty is that with all that was foreshadowed how can it be right to try a second vote. NZ voted and this is what we have got but few should be surprised by the outcome. So voting on the "Let's undo" site is a bit like the Brexit remainers who just won't let democracy alone. Much as I fear and detest the current government it's what the 'people' voted for so I can't lend my name.

Jeremy, the "people" did not vote for this Government, it is an illegitimate Government.

Well Gecko by 'illegitimate government' you may mean that it is not a government you were either expecting or wanting but my understanding is that the tree headed monster
still achieved a majority of the seats in the parliament. Looks legitimate to me.

Jeremy, It's merely a coalition of the losers in the last election.

They don't have the people behind them though, as National outpolled Labour, therefore national should be leading govt. This is a farce and we have a broken system, where a minnow party got to choose the govt, sidelining all voters. God help NZ, it's going to be a rough ride ahead. Mostly list MPs in power, whilst the electorate MPs are out in the wilderness. What sort of democracy is that?

Yes, there again. NZ voted for MMP. I didn't but a majority of NZers did. I recall somewhere that someone said "As you sow, so shall you reap". Happy next three years Gecko and 'Anonymous'. I fancy it will be a long three years for all of us!
Happy New Year to you both.

Happy New Year to you too Jeremy. I was overseas but seem to recall there was something about Kiwis being offered a referendum on MMP, did that ever happen?
