Who is Poneke?

I am an "unqualified beneficiary bashing talkback ranter"

But who is Poneke? Anybody know? Whoever he is he likes his work so much he republishes it within the space of weeks.

It's that old strange fruit David "Trainspotter" McLaughlin. Good investigative journalist. Shame he could never write up his notes without his lefty politics getting in the way.
Him saying that is the equivalent of getting a wet lettuce leaf waved in your general direction.

So what exactly is the 'qualification' for one who wishes to critisize handouts?

I would suggest it is to be a taxpayer (one of the ones who pays more tax than the welfare they recieve)

David McLaughlin, extremely bitter old gentleman who has lived a life of averageness, kicked out of every role in the media and last I heard working in a government department., That was before the nATS took over and he allegedly took off.

Ian Wishart has worked with him in the past. Wishart calls him "Polly-neke" because of his rosy colored view of the world [under Labour]

He seems to be of similar ilk to Findlay McDonald or Paul Thomas; incredibly unctuous one minute, and arrogant, sneering elitists the next. [depending upon their political target of course . . . including you Lindsay]

Take it as a compliment that you are irritating him by doing research he is unable counter with reason, logic and facts.

Excellent work Lindsay - so much better to be criticised than to be off the radar, methinks! One wonders what the inertia is he wants to retain...

David McLauchlin, who used to be a Dominion journo - or was that the EP? Writes mainly on buses. And when he is not writing on buses he is writing about buses.

Heh. so hopefully we can get him fired for this then. Got to be a breach of the public service conditions...
