On the baby-faced father ... et al

I haven't felt inclined to comment about the now-famous adolescent couple from that English town my home is named after. But this is very good and says all that I have thought and much more;

... The local priest chimed in with additional stupid comments. “Whatever their ages, I say well done for bringing the child into the world,” said Father Seamus. No worries says the good reverend: “I expect social services will help and I would hope that they have got family and friends to help both of them.” No contraception, no abortion, no wonder the Catholic priest is thrilled. After all social services, i.e., the taxpayer, is there to support the child.

Oh Gawd, why are you libertines so weak? Forget about sneering at some insignificant God-fearing padre and open your eyes to the wider picture - the insidious disintegration of our culture.

Try to figure out the who's hows and whys yourself.

What a sick fucked world we live in. That this crap should be headline news is sad and depressing. The media will play the suckers for all its worth.

Dirk.

Anon, Did you read the full piece? I merely highlighted a facetious extract because, as they say, if you didn't laugh....

I find the 'underclass' and 'white trash' comments in the linked post rather offensive.

The forced pregnancy brigade - catholics and so on - should offer to pay for the upkeep and education of the child until the age of 18 - never seeing it or anything like that.

When these 'pro-lifers' show concern for an individual once it is OUTSIDE the womb they may be taken seriously.

They already do--via their taxes. Then they pay some more for the screwed up individual results of dysfunctional family life.
And although I don't have a blanket position on abortion, what evidence is there that pro-lifers in particular don't show concern for people once they're outside the womb?
Seems to me that there's plenty of evidence that lowlifes who breed in order to get the DPB show very little concern indeed for the fruits of their decision.

The underage parents could have considered adoption, it's a shame that adoption has gone out the window, it is a better answer than abortion and for these child parents, would have been a common sense solution, doesn't any baby deserve life experienced, adult parents? Adoption worked for many decades, such a waste its al but gone.

Ruth, regarding your offense at the linked post I will give you three options:
1. Open your fucken eyes and live on planet earth.
2. Make a donation yourself to the raising of this unfortunate child.
