This blog intends to debunk the myths surrounding the welfare state. The government is not caring and compassionate. It cannot replace families and community. The welfare state is unsustainable economically, socially and morally.

Interesting....here is some anecdotal evidence for you. I am currently looking for tenants for a house in Wainui. I have had a lot of replies from single mothers with 3-4 kids. I ask the ages of th kids and there are a lot who have kids that are 13, 15, 17 or close to it, plus another one who is 1 or 2, or are expecting. OK, I have no idea of their circumstances but six of the eight single mothers who responded so far have almost identical aged kids. Another baby just as one or more of their kids are approaching the age where they no longer qualify as dependent children for DPB purposes?
