"Buy Kiwi-made" is another immoral programme

Apart from the anti-trade nature of this $11.5 million programme there is another aspect I find repugnant.

Importers are forced to pay government to encourage people away from their products. They are doubly-diddled.

If a bunch of NZ producers want to get together to promote Buy Kiwi-made, fine. But it should not be funded from taxation.

I never have worked out what people have against foreign made goods apart from them being made by - 'foreigners'.

Xenophobia takes many shapes - Buy Kiwi Made is one of them.

Nichlemn gets it spot on. Taken to its logical conclusion no one should deal with anyone else for anything...how does that "social" bit work in Socialism again...?
